Scalable Path is looking for a Google App Scripting / Add-On Specialist to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position (we are also open to part-time availability).
The pay rate for this role is from $40 - $60 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability.
CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
The client is a startup in the education space and creates digital worksheets for teachers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The client's app lets teachers build digital worksheets from existing paper worksheets or from scratch. Many teachers have been using Google Slides and Google Docs to do something similar (though the client has a better solution), to provide an on-ramp for these teachers the client would like to make it possible for teachers to import their work from Google Apps (Slides, Docs, Forms, Quizzes) directly into their platform. The goal is to do this using Google App Scripting. They are looking for someone who is familiar with the Google Apps API, authentication, etc. and can do this efficiently.
The client is currently using Slack for communication and Trello for task tracking. Their main source code is in Git.
RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:
You will be reporting to the CTO and working with a team of 3.5 engineers. The client is in the America/New York (-04:00) EDT time zone.
- Strong English communication skills
- Google Apps Script (https://www.google.com/script/start/)
- Experience importing user data from Google Apps
DESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:
- Experience building Chrome Extensions
- Experience with jQuery and desire to update an existing jQuery-based app
- Python (Django)
As soon as possible.
EXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:
The project will last at least 1 month and potentially longer, particularly if you have some of the other nice-to-have skills
The client is also open to developers who are available part-time (for example, 20 hours/week) as opposed to full-time.
